A variant of the 2018 F-150 specifically intended for police work, the Police Responder will utilize a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that will produce 375 horsepower and a 7,000-pound towing capacity. Add in 132 cubic feet of cargo space, 470 pounds-feet of torque, and a top speed of 100 MPH and you get a truck that can handle most anything the officers driving it might need.
Ford's introduction of the Police Responder only makes sense considering the large role the automaker already plays in equipping police departments all over the United States. It also makes sense however, because of how versatile the F-150 itself will be. Much like versions from previous years, the new F-150 will release with several sizes and engine options available from the get-go.
