Country singer Tracy Byrd claims it takes three rounds of Jose Cuervo® to let a stranger lead him out on the dance floor, and after round seven (or was it eight?), he would buy a round for the whole dang place.
Jose Cuervo has been making tequila for over 220 years, and has pervaded our popular culture. Now the famed tequileria is teaming up with Ford Motor Company to build more sustainable cars.
After the agave plants are roasted and pressed to release their sugary sap for fermentation, a large amount of fiber is left over. Rather than chuck it out, Jose Cuervo is sending it to Ford, where researchers are developing it as a reinforcing agent in composite plastics. The material will be more lightweight and affordable than current alternatives, like fiberglass, and it will help reduce carbon emissions.
That just leaves us to wonder... how many shots does it take to create an agave-reinforced cup holder?
